RENBE UK

100% biodegradable Face Towels

Check out our Q&A with Renbe founders!

Tell us a little about RENBE?

Renbe UK is the vision and creation of Husband & Wife - Jason and Sarah, who co-founded the brand in 2022. With Sarah's background in the beauty industry spanning over 14 years as a successful beauty therapist and salon owner.

During this time, she discovered a passion for skincare, fueled by her clients' success stories and the joy of transforming their skin. Jason may have a background in logistics, but it was his wife Sarah who inspired him to think outside the box. After noticing how many cotton pads Sarah went through every day, he knew there had to be a better way.

When Sarah came to him with the idea of creating a sustainable and disposable face towel, he was more than excited to jump on board with the concept.

Together, they set out to create a product that would not only be eco-friendly but also deliver the same level of convenience and luxury they expected in a product. The Flawless Face Towels were born - a game-changing addition to the world of sustainable beauty.

What was your motivation behind setting up this brand?

For years, Sarah struggled with her own skin issues, from redness and breakouts to sensitivity and eczema. Despite using high-quality products she still found herself still lacking that desired glow.

She’d always used cotton pads for their convenience, but even those had their downsides. Sarah was becoming more environmentally conscious, so she switched to reusable face cloths, but this came with its own set of challenges.

She went through numerous brands and materials, but most irritated her skin, particularly around the eyes and they weren't suitable to use with all her products like Micellar water and toner.

Sarah knew there had to be a better way - a solution that would work for all skin types, satisfy her passion for sustainability and be gentle on the planet too. After extensive research, Sarah discovered the power of bamboo and its endless benefits for the skin.

After countless samples and much experimentation, she finally developed the Flawless Face Towels - the perfect size and thickness made entirely from 100% biodegradable bamboo.

What has been the highlight for RENBE since you launched in 2022?

We have been thrilled with all the positive feedback we've received since launching our product. As perfectionists by nature, we wanted to create the very best towel possible, and seeing how much people love them has been more than we could have hoped for.

Our customers have also found so many uses for their Flawless Face Towels, they are using them all over the house before finally disposing of them. It shows just how durabile and absorbent our towels are.

What can we expect from RENBE in the future, any plans for new products?

We are planning to expand our product line and offer a full range of skincare products!

Our goal is to create a skincare line that is both eco-friendly for the planet and effective for our customers, keeping your skin healthy and glowing without compromising on the environment.

We're passionate about providing high-quality, sustainable products that meet the needs of every skin type. With our commitment to sustainability and excellence, every product we launch will be carefully crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail.

What are the key challenges your brand is facing right now?

We understand that some people may be hesitant to try our towels because they're disposable. Our towels are not your average single-use product - they're designed to be robust and absorbent, making them perfect for multiple uses.

It is often overlooked that their biodegradable nature means they won't clog up landfills like traditional cotton pads and wipes do. Bamboo is a fast-growing plant that requires fewer resources to grow, making it an excellent eco-friendly option for those who want to reduce their carbon footprint.

Bamboo has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that help to cleanse and soothe your skin gently. Moreover, unlike traditional cotton pads, these towels are lint-free, which means they won't leave any residue behind on your skin.

They're also incredibly absorbent, making them ideal for removing makeup, dirt, and impurities from your skin quickly and effectively By using our towels, you're not only taking care of your skin but also taking a step towards a greener and cleaner future.

What is one thing you’d love consumers to know about your brand?

We're dedicated to creating products that not only meet our customers needs but also exceed their expectations. That's why we love to hear feedback from our customers, especially as we continue to expand and grow our product line.

Our mission is to build a brand that is sustainable, eco-friendly, and luxurious, without compromising on results or convenience.

We want you to feel good about using our products, knowing that you're making a positive impact on the environment while treating yourself to a little bit of luxury every day. Our commitment to sustainability and excellence means that every product we create is carefully crafted with your needs in mind, so you can trust that you're getting nothing but the best.

What steps do you take to ensure sustainability and environmental responsibility?

Previously, we had a donation initiative in place where we contributed £1 to EcoPeace Middle East for every Mineral Mud Mask sold. This support was specifically for their Green-Blue Deal proposal, which aimed to address water scarcity in the Jordan Valley, where the Dead Sea is located. However, the programme is undergoing changes and we are in discussions with the NGO to determine the best way we can continue supporting their efforts.

Given the complex political situation in the Middle East, promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility requires collaboration among different countries. We believe that The Dead Sea Co. has a significant role to play in raising awareness about water scarcity in the Jordan Valley and advocating for a regional development plan that strikes a balance between Dead Sea conservation and local industrial and agricultural needs (which is the biggest environmental issue in that region).

As someone with a background in sustainability, I am currently working on finalising our plans in this regard. Therefore, I am hesitant to share specific details until we have everything in place.
