Sephora bans the sale of Mink lashes in its stores
A campaign run by PETA animal rights activist organisation succeeded in changing Sephora’s policies around the sale of mink lashes. According to PETA the process of containing and harvesting the hair from live minks was inhumane and after Sephora received 280,000 mails from concerned shoppers they agreed to discontinue the sale of mink lashes.
Sephora stated they would sell the remaining stock of what they had but will not be replenishing the stock, furthermore they stated that Sephora will only supply lashes of synthetic or faux fur going forward. The move is a positive step by the LVMH owned retailer showing that they were prepared to listen and adapt to the concerns of their customers.
