
Kiko Milano launches ‘The Little Mermaid’ inspired makeup collection
Cosmetic brand Kiko Milano has partnered with Disney to release a collection of beauty products inspired by the upcoming live-action film adaptation of The Little Mermaid. The collaboration aims to capitalize on the rising popularity of the “mermaidcore” trend, characterized by iridescent and shimmery colors such as pinks, purples, and blues, as well as symbols like shells, coral, and waves. This style has seen a significant surge in searches on platforms like Pinterest and Google, with a 614% increase in searches for “mermaidcore” on Pinterest and a 736% rise in global searches for “mermaid style” on Google in the past year.
The collection, designed to reflect the theme of freedom portrayed in the film, features long-lasting, water-resistant, and moisturizing formulas. The packaging is inspired by pearls and clamshells, giving the products a beauty trinket-like appearance. The skincare range includes products such as a refreshing globe, lip balm with SPF 50, body scrub, face and body sun cream with SPF 30 or SPF 50, and face and body after sun cream. In terms of cosmetics, the collection offers a wide range of products, including foundation with SPF 30, baked bronzer, contour and highlighter duo stick, long-lasting eyeshadow stick, waterproof eye marker, multi-dimensional mascara with 16-hour wear, waterproof lip liner, and nail lacquer.
The Kiko Milano x The Little Mermaid collection was launched on May 11 and is available for purchase on the brand’s website, www.kikomilano.com, as well as in its 1,000 stores worldwide.
