Could this be the secret to making makeup last all day?
Another week brings about another crazy beauty trend courtesy of TikTok. This trend originates in South Korea’s K-Beauty scene and is called ‘Jamsu’. It rose to fame in 2017 when people started dunking their fully made up face in ice cold water with the claim that it helps makeup stay on.
It has made a comeback in recent weeks due to none other than TikTok. Although it’s definitely one of the more out there beauty trends on TikTok, users swear by it for lengthening the amount of time your makeup lasts. One thing is for certain, it would definitely wake you up in the morning.
If you would like to try out this trend then keep reading for Maree Kinder’s step by step guide on how to Jamsu for metro.co.uk. ‘Following base application (foundation, concealer, and powder), dunk your head in cold water three times for about ten seconds. ‘Make sure to use a bowl big enough that you can move your face around in. ‘[Jamsu] works with most base applications such as foundations, BB creams, etc, but you must use a powder to set it. ‘The powder needs to be evenly distributed on the skin otherwise results can be uneven. ‘The water repels the powder and presses it to set on your skin, which is why powder is the critical step.’
