Salicylic Acid
Ingredient Overview
Salicylic Acid:
Salicylic Acid is a beta hydroxy acid compound that encourages exfoliation processes in the skin. Beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) and Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are two classes of Salicylic Acid. Both exfoliate the skin, but AHAs are water-soluble and BHAs are oil-soluble.
AHAs are more suited for the skin that isn’t very oily. It improves skin texture, helps skin to brighten, and hydration.
BHAs can cut through the oil that the skin naturally produces. The oil-soluble molecule can penetrate more deeply than other acids which can clear out pores.
Salicylic acid is useful for improving the skin prone to acne, congestion, and an abundance of sebum.

Benefits
Salicylic acid is one of the ingredients that helps the skin to prevent acne.
Salicylic acid is perfect for deep exfoliation with breaking down of skin cells. It also helps to soften the top layer of skin cells.
Directions of Use
Salicylic acid is used to treat mild to moderate acne and can be used in combination with other acne treatments. You can apply Salicylic acid to your face in the evening after cleansing and toning, before moisturising.
Salicylic acid can have a negative side effect on the skin and cause irritation and dryness for sensitive skin. So it recommended checking with your dermatologist before using it. It also increases your skin’s sensitivity to UV so it is important to apply only in the evening time and be sure to always wear an SPF on the skin.
